  • Position players in established positions if possible (GS & GK opposite ends). Explain the idea is to make the ball travel the least distance (in a straight line) down the court.
  • (A) starts from defence by passing directly down court to (B) who runs centrally from a wide position
Use flat and hard shoulder passes
After passing, quickly return to your cone
  • (B) catches, turns and passes to (C) who has run from a central position
The ball should barely change trajectory
  • Complete the line of throws with:-
    (C) to (D) presenting from wide
    (D) to (E) presenting from centre
  • Wait for (D) to return to position and repeat in the opposite direction, with (E) starting proceedings
  • If you have odd players sitting out, sub them in after a 60-90 seconds.
  • Progression 1: Change the types of pass used, or throwing arm for advanced teams.
  • Progression 2: If you have 10 players, make it a race up-and-back between two lines with same cone layout on opposing wings
Police that (D) returns to their cone before they can receive the return pass from (E)
