  • Groups of 4 each require 1/6 of the court. They key to this drill is the distance between all the cones - it must be far enough to make an intercept challenging but not impossible. Pairs start same side of square, (C) has ball. Start by making it easier to intercept with a shorter 2m distance between (1 & 2).
  • (A) leads laterally towards (2), where (C) initiates a 1-2 pass across the diagonal.
    (A) lands on outside foot, preparing for a change of direction
  • (A) sprint towards their starting cone (1) where they attempt to intercept (C)'s second pass to (B)
    (A) can also try to tip, but will ideally intercept to guarantee possession
Return the ball to (B) now prepare for the next turn.
  • The movement is mirrored the other way:-
    (C) leads laterally towards (4), where (B) initiates a 1-2 pass across the diagonal.
    (C) races back to (3) to intercept (B)'s pass to (D)
  • Next time, (A & B) and (C & D) swap roles
  • Watch closely and adjust the distance between (1 & 2) to make it more challenging.
Players should be looking to make a tight change of direction
