  • Form 2 evenly matched teams. Goal third is the playing area. One team starts in possession (send on 4 players) and one team plays defence (send on 1 player). If you have a stopwatch, turn this into a game.
  • If you have a stopwatch, start it. The team in possession lead and pass to one another, while the defender attempts to intercept
If a turnover occurs, stop the clock & note the time at which it occurred and reset
Return ball to team in possession (same players remain on court); restart.
  • After 20 seconds, introduce an additional defender into the mix.
Now there are two defenders to attempt an intercept, so more effort is required to find space.
Defenders consider playing zone defence unless the ball moves into a corner, where it may pay to play tight 1-on-1 defence.
  • Introduce a 3rd & 4th defender at 20 second intervals. Continue until a turnover is made.
Record the time of the turnover
  • The team in possession sub-on extras, then try again
If timing, after 2 turns, note:-
    1. the longest time in possession
    2. the quickest turnover time
  • Swap the team in possession and give them 2 attempts. Sub-off/on players between turns. If timing, award:-
1 point for the team who possesses the longest
1 point for the team who causes the fastest turnover
Light penalty for losing team if 2-0 result (optional)
