Overhead Lob Relay
  • Purpose
    Applying the correct trajectory and weight when passing on-the-move is tough to master, practice this during warm-up.

  • Pair-up and give each a ball. Pairs disperse across the baseline with (B) standing on it and (A) behind them, off-court, with the ball.
  • (A & B) jog forwards down the court.
  • (A) throws a lob over (B)'s head, which (B) must jumps to catch out in front, without breaking stride.
    The key to this drill is accurately weighting the pass so (B) doesn't (wait under it / can catch)
  • After throwing the lob, (A) rounds (B) to become the front player.
  • Repeat, this time (B) lobs, (A) catches, (B) runs to the front.
  • Once you reach the end of the court, about-face and repeat back up the other way.
