  • Groups of 3 need part of the baseline (or use a transverse line). Groups choose attacker (A) and defender (B) who stand 2m from the baseline, and feeder (C) on a cone about 5m from the baseline.
  • Feeder (C) has the ball and fakes a low bounce pass by leaning forward at the hips. Defender (B) takes a front position, which invites the lob pass
  • Suddenly (C) changes to an upright stance for throwing a lob
  • (A) reads this cue and prepares for a lob by performing a hold so (B) can't enter the drop zone of the pass
  • (C) lobs to (A) who starts moving to receive once the pass is directly above their head
The pass must be caught as close to - but not beyond - the baseline
    (B) can intercept a poor, short pass
  • Throw back to (C), reset positions and repeat 5-10 times in the same role. Rotate roles and repeat.
  • Progression for added difficulty: Take (C)'s cone back 2-4m
Further adjust the difficult of (C)'s pass by starting (A & B) (nearer to / further from) to the baseline
