  • Each pair needs about 1/6 of the length of the court. Players start 5m apart, and choose worker (A) and feeder (B) who starts facing away from (A).
  • Feeder (B) starts the action by throwing the ball in the air and jumping high to catch it. Once they land they twist in readiness to pass with their preferred hand.
  • (A) sees the direction (B) has turned and makes a straight lead towards that side.
    (A) leads to left if the ball is in (B)'s right-hand, and vice versa
  • (B) throws a fast shoulder pass which (A) receives with a two-handed catch, or a one-handed catch if the pass is too wide to catch with two.
  • (A) returns a shoulder pass to (B), then diagonal side-steps back to their starting position
  • (B) turns away from (A) and restarts play with another throw+catch above their head. This time however they turn their body towards their non-preferred hand. Seeing this, (A) makes a straight lead to that side.
  • Continue with right-left-right-left passes. Rotate roles after 30 seconds.
  • Progressions: (B) no longer passes sequentially right-left-right-left, instead make the turn random to keep (A) alert.
